Hermanas de Maryknoll Apartado 571 - I Monterrat 01907 - Zona 7 Guatemala, Guatemala April 26, 2000 Dear each of you!! Greetings from Guatemala! To say that I am envious (in a joyful way, if that's possible) of all of you meeting up at Maryknoll would be a great understatement but I'am really so happy that you are able to get together and renew friendships after so many years... with each other and with your former teachers. And what better place in the States than Maryknoll - our roots and yours! I'll be looking forward to hearing about your get together from Sister Pat Redmond (maura) when she returns to Guatemala... and if any of you would like to send notes via Sister Pat - feel free - OK, Pat??? I'd love to hear how you are doing. I have seen some of you over the years when I would be up at Maryknoll - different members of the McFarlane family (and how I appreciated the beautiful letter when your Dad died). Maritza and Judy Guabloche visited about two years ago an I really treasure those moments. Thank you. After I left Santa Rosa in 1963, I went up to Arequipa and then the Altiplano and then back again to Lima in Villa El Salvador. From there I went to Central America - seven years in San salvador and now I'm here in Guatemala since 1998. My ministry has been geared to supporting people living with AIDS both in San Salvador and here in Guate...hospital and home visiting, and now more recently at a hospice outside Guatemala City where there are both children and adults HIV+ or AIDS. It's a beautiful ministry and I love it very much but it's also a difficult one - its not easy seeing such suffering - especially in small children. You might keep all of them, and me, in your prayers. I hope you all have a beautiful get-together and carry with you memories which last forever!!! I also hope this visit will not be your last one - and I hope I'll be up at Maryknoll on your next return! Much love to each of you... Sister Alma (also known as Sister Bernie Lynch) |

Dear "Kids" - all grown up now!
It was so wonderful to hear you'd all be together up at Maryknoll for this occasion! Sorry I won't be there to greet you "in person," but you will probably hear from Miguel about his visit here. We did have a good time, though too short. It would be great if any of you could get here some day! Welcome mat is out! Come! Saludos to all. Love and prayers, Antonia (Sister George Anthony) |

Maryknoll Sisters P.O. Box 305 Pahala, HI 96777 Dear Santa Rosa Students, Warm aloha greetings to you from across the Pacific. You knew me as Sister Ann Louise. I now use my baptismal name, Eleanor. Can you recognize me in this photo? With me are some third graders I work with in Pahala Elementary School on the Big Island of Hawaii. It has been along time since 1959-1963 when I was with you at Santa Rosa. After that I spent a number of years in mission in Bolivia, Panama, and Maryknoll, NY, and currently I am in Hawaii. I hope you have a wonderful day at Maryknoll on June 3. Distance makes it impossible for me to be there but I'll be thinking of you very specially then and I will always pray for you. My best wishes to all of you. God bless you. Affectionately, Sister Eleanor Killion

May 31, 2000 Dear Santa Rosa Students, I had been looking forward to visiting with you but unfortunately I fell last Sunday and dislocated my arm. Since I am unable to drive it is impossible to attend your reunion. I do hope you enjoy your day at Maryknoll. I have many happy memories of my years at Colegio Santa Rosa and still think of you as teenagers. It would have been wonderful to meet with you as adults. Love, Margarita O'Hara |
